| Step 1: Persuasion Some pics of the game: I came across this game at my friend's house through Steam, after a very frustrating game of Counter-Strike, and I must say...this game gets extremely addicting after a while. Audiosurf takes your music (just about ANY song) and translates it into this road full of colored traffic where you must match 3 of the same color in a row. All of the colors appear on little parts of a song, whether it may be a cymbal, a small drum hit, an echo, etc. In the default game mode, you are trying to get colored blocks and avoid gray blocks. But that's just the beginning. The road is also heavily influenced by the song. As if trying to get the colors were hard enough, you now have to worry about the intensity of songs. Slower, calmer sections, make the road generally go uphill, and you will see cool colors like purple, blue, and green (intensity in respective order). Faster, more intense sections, make the road go downhill, and you will see hot colors like yellow, orange, and dark red (intensity in respective order). There's still more. There's many different types of game modes. The default game mode, you try to avoid gray blocks. There are other modes: one of which you have to match many different colors rather than just avoiding gray blocks. Minimum Specs: * OS: Microsoft® Windows® XP/Vista * Processor: 1.6 GHz Intel® Pentium® 4 * Memory: 512 MB RAM * Graphics: 32 MB NVIDIA GeForce® 2 (support for Pixel Shader 3.0 recommended) * DirectX Version: DirectX® 9.0 or higher * Sound: DirectX® 9.0c-compatible sound card It's a bit CPU intensive, I know. One thing that I did (since I barely cleared the processing speed and vid card requirements), was played in fullscreen and dropped the resolution to 640x480, and poof--no lag. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Step 2: Download Steam normally charges for this game. But...I was lucky enough to find a place that hosted a cracked version for free. So, if you like what you see... Single Link: http://netload.in/datei6ebcb5a9ab1fcdf86b784afaec80d77c/Audiosurf_Detonation.rar.htm***You also need WinRAR for this, just search WinRAR on google and download the latest version.*** DO SOMETHING ELSE WHILE DOWNLOADING THIS FILE--IT'S NOT THE BEST OF MIRRORS. Just about all of the links were rapidshare or megaupload. Or, if you don't want to use this link--there are torrents out there too. Otherwise, it's about a 3 hour download. You also need Daemon Tools for this to work properly, this is what makes the game non-reilant to Steam, so you can play it without being logged into Steam. Install Daemon Tools after the download. You should have to restart your computer. Step 3: It's a pretty simple thing to do, actually. You only need to extract one of the 26 .rar files, just make sure you extract one that has a file size of 15 MB (14,649 KB). Once it is extracted, go to the Daemon Tools icon on the bottom right of your screen, and set your number of devices to one. Click on 'Device 0: Drive F (it's F for me, may be different for you.) It should ask you to choose some sort of file. Go to where your extracted .rar. There should be two files, a large .bin file, and a .cue file. Choose the .cue file. Once you do that, it should prompt you to install the game. Complete that install and you are finished. I know it seems like a lot of work, but I think it is well worth this game. It's a very addicting game and all of your music library can come into play. If you have any problems with the install, or have a review, or even a good song for the game. Post it here. | |

| It is seriously addicting. It's worth the download, though. And as long as the set-up seems, it's not complicated. | |

| I tried the demo of this about 2 weeks back. I was overly impressed with the speed at which the program can make a fun experience to any song. It's definitely worth the download, if only it was free for the full version :/ | |

| Make sure that you get Daemon Tools Pro to mount the .cue file! Hey Tsu, maybe we should have a Warez/Apps/Games forum/thread download section XD AND I wrote that "Article" too, I didn't copy it! Quoted by article XD | |

Nah, I see no need. Just post links to DLs and other stuff in their respective forums. - TC_Halogen wrote:

| Actually, I tried this last week. It has the potential to become an extremely addicting game for me.
Unfortunately, my laptop has the memory capacity of a goldfish, my desktop in the other room is so ancient that every time I turn Audiosurf on, it freezes before I can play anything, and the desktop at my father's has no sound.
And so I wait. | |

| What I did was run the game in Fullscreen and change the resolution to 640x480, but it still looks the same, and runs just as well. | |
