| ..Anyone know how to get over it? I've been working on a piece for two months , I'm over halfway through composing it for the piano & flute but I'm having trouble thinking of any stuff to go with it. For the last month and a half I've been teaching myself insane jazz riffs out of boredom... (I'm a piano play, also into guitar as of this year)
BTW, this is my first post.. I'm Matt, I just got into TC today.

| Yo Matt, just wondering what you're using to create the pieces.
As per the block, stay away from listening to the genre of music the piece you're writing is.
Some good stuff to look into for Inspiration:
Circus Maximus Dream Theater Onoken Tiesto Coheed and Cambria Metallica Angels and Airwaves Dillinger Escape Plan The Mars Volta Gladiator Soundtrack Gordon Goodwin's Big Phat Band Thievery Corporation Queen Pendulum Black Sabbath
It's a pretty decent mix of stuff in a very wide range.
Look into them and see what you like.
I'll upload these and more for you later today. For now though, sleep.

| Tsu Black Sabbath fails. The only good one I like from that list is Metallica. | |

BTW, I love Coheed and Cambria. <3

| Haha, I'm using Finale PrintMusic 07(08????) to compose it.. I don't use anything like Fruityloops or the likes. Thanks for the advice, I hope to get a bit more into the piece soon.
By the way, Metal really can mix with anything.. Especially classical music.
